Final round report

The players were welcomed with a strong wind which made scoring for the day incredibly tough

In the Professionals section, Adrian Meronk was the only Pro who tamed the conditions, shooting a best of the day, level par 72.  As other players faded away, it was left to first round leader, Niclas Johansson, and Mike Toorop, to claim the 3 Professional spots in the Qatar Masters

In the amateur section, home favourite, and Doha Golf Club member, Mikel Mathiesen, played a solid round of golf.  One bogey at the second was then evened out with a birdie at the 12th.  Playing the last, with a 6 shot lead, Mikkel avoided the trouble, and even though his third shot was long of the green, Mikkel won the Amateur Championship and booked his place in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.  A fantastic achievement Mikkel - the whole club is proud of you and you will have fantastic support in the Qatar Masters.
